Scripps booth badge
This unique and surprising object was found near the main dig site by metal detectorists. An internet search turned up the Scripps Booth Car Register web site. The badge was from a Scripps Booth automobile manufactured in Detroit, United States. Kenneth Kaufmann was most helpful with our enquiry and informed us that this badge was from the wheel hub on a wire wheel model. Thanks to them, more detailed information about this American car manufacturer can be read here in word format.

How a badge from an expensive and rare American car circa 1900-1919 ended up buried in court hey park is anyone's guess - the Gladstone family could certainly afford one and Walter Longueville Gladstone did not pass away until 1919.
